In a report published by the Daily Mail on 27 June, Vian Dakhil, a member of the Iraqi Parliament, claimed that a mother unknowingly ate her one-year-old son after ISIS militants cooked the child and served it with rice to her

The Iraqi lawmaker made these claims during a television interview with Egyptian TV channel Extra News, where she said that, "One of the women whom we managed to retrieve from ISIS said that she was held in a cellar for three days without food or water.

"Afterwards, they brought her a plate of rice and meat. She ate the food because she was very hungry. When she was finished they said to her: 'We cooked your one-year-old son that we took from you, and this is what you just ate'."

Listening to the gut-wrenching atrocity against the mother, the interviewer had to pause the show to wipe his tears

The mother, according to the Iraqi MP, is a Yazidi woman

The Islamic State (ISIS) treats Yazidis, who are neither Arab nor Muslim, as being devil-worshippers. Their militants have carried out horrible atrocities against the minority in Iraq, massacring thousands and taking women and children as sex slaves.

The act against the mother wasn't the only atrocious act committed by ISIS, revealed the Iraqi lawmaker. She went on to describe other gruesome details of atrocities by ISIS.

She revealed that a 10-year-old Yazidi girl had been raped to death by the ISIS militants in front of her father and five sisters.

"One of the girls said that they took six of her sisters. Her younger sister was raped to death in front of her father and sisters. She was ten-years-old. The question that we ask yourselves is: "Why? Why did these savages do this to us?'", Vian Dakhil said.
