Animal Association Offers RM10,000 Reward For Information On Kitten Set On Fire
The association has insufficient information about the perpetrator to take further action.
The Malaysia Animal Association is offering an RM10,000 reward to anyone who can provide information on a viral video of a kitten getting set on fire
The non-governmental organisation shared the cruel act in a Facebook post on Sunday, 19 July.
The 44-second clip shows a person behind the camera using a lighter to set a kitten ablaze after presumably dousing it in gasoline.
The kitten easily caught on fire and ran away while the person chased after it to film it.
The association said it has insufficient information about the perpetrator to take further action
"Animal Malaysia received incomplete information on the incident which was believed to have occurred in Pahang. But there was no detail for us to conduct further investigations," said the non-governmental organisation.
"Animal Malaysia is increasing the reward from RM3,000 to RM10,000 for any individual or group who can confirm the location of the incident where a kitten was set on fire."
The video has since been shared over 4,700 times
Some 70,000 Facebook users have viewed the video and many who commented had condemned the act and called for the perpetrator to be severely punished.
The association also hoped that legal action could be taken against the offender if the incident was found to be true.
