Astro CEO Rohana Rozhan Has Resigned

Her departure will take place on 31 January 2019.

Astro Malaysia CEO Datuk Rohana Rozhan has resigned, the satellite television operator said in a statement

Free Malaysia Today (FMT) and Malay Mail reported that the Rohana, who had been with the Astro Group since 1995, will be replaced by chief content and consumer officer Henry Tan.

Her departure will take place on 31 January 2019

Malay Mail quoted Astro as saying that Rohana was leaving her high-ranking position to "pursue other goals"

“Datuk Rohana has been an inspirational leader to all at Astro, having led the team in setting many firsts and milestones for the media industry in Malaysia.

"We respect her decision to step down as GCEO and wish her all the very best and a bright future ahead," Astro chairman Tun Zaki Azmi said in a statement.

She will remain on the board as a non-executive director. 

A source related to the matter said Rohana's resignation was not related to the recent data breach or the purge of high-ranking executives at government-linked organisations

The source told Malay Mail, "No, it has zero to do with the CEO exodus. Zero to do with [data leak] too."
