Malaysians in the B40 and M40 income groups will be receiving the second payout of the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional 2.0 (BPN 2.0) cash aid beginning next Thursday, 21 January
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that the BPN 2.0 payments for eligible recipients will be credited directly into their bank accounts starting 21 January and 25 January, respectively.
Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said that this time around, payments totalling RM2.3 billion will be given out to 11.06 million recipients, with 460,000 of them being new approvals.
If you received the first payout, this time you will receive cash assistance worth RM100 to RM300 depending on your category
As a recap, BPN 2.0 is part of the RM10 billion PRIHATIN Supplementary Initiative Package (Kita Prihatin) announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on 23 September last year.
The payments were planned to be distributed in two instalments - the first one in October 2020 and the second in January 2021.
Therefore, this time around, if you are an existing recipient, you will be receiving the remaining amount of the total cash promised.
Here is how much you will receive for the second BPN 2.0 payout next week:
- B40 families with an income of RM4,000 and below: RM300
- M40 families with an income between RM4,001 and RM8,000: RM200
- B40 individuals with an income of RM2,000 and below: RM150
- M40 individuals with an income between RM2,001 and RM4,000: RM100
Recipients will be receiving the cash directly into their registered bank accounts
For those without bank accounts, they will be able to collect their payments at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches from 25 January onwards.
As for recipients in Sabah and Sarawak who do not have bank accounts, payments will be made from early February to 1 April at locations that will be announced at the end of this month.
If you are one of the 460,000 new approvals who applied or appealed between 15 October to 15 November last year, you will be receiving the total BPN 2.0 assistance in one instalment this month
