Christine Swidorsky Stevenson says on her Facebook page that Logan Stevenson died in her arms on Monday night at the home she shared with the boy's father and her new husband, Sean Stevenson.

Image via dailymail.co.ukThe wedding went ahead in the city of Pittsburgh and was a celebration of his life. Logan was held by his grandmother Debbie Stevenson during the ceremony as he held on to his favourite stuffed rabbit.
At the wedding, Mrs Swidorsky Stevenson’s daughter Isabella Johns, 13, served as the bridesmaid, and the couple’s one-year-old daughter Savannah as the flower girl.

Logan was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia
Logan was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at 14 months old and had a stem-cell transplant a year ago. He lost one kidney to a tumor in March and doctors found a mass on his other kidney.

Image via dailymail.co.ukHe endured a stem cell transplant in July 2012. During a Make-A-Wish trip to Disney World in June, Logan fell ill. He was hospitalized in Florida before he was flown back to Pittsburgh.
Yet despite his heartbreaking medical condition, his parents found hope in having him be part of their intimate backyard wedding, which also served as a tribute to his short life.

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is cancer that starts inside bone marrow, the soft tissue inside bones that helps form blood cells.
The cancer grows from cells that would normally turn into white blood cells. Acute means the disease develops quickly.

Although AML is a relatively rare disease, accounting for approximately 1.2% of cancer deaths in the United States, its incidence is expected to increase as the population ages.
