In the wildest turn of political events, Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders held a private meeting today, 21 November

Although the details of their discussion have not yet been made public, rumours are rife that the two political juggernauts, who have been feuding for decades, could be discussing the terms of forming a new federal government together.

PH holds 82 parliamentary seats, while BN holds 30, enough to achieve a 112-seat majority out of 222 parliamentary seats.

Berita Harian reported that four BN members of parliament (MPs) did not attend the meeting, namely Sembrong MP Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Jelebu MP Jalaluddin Alias, Kuala Pilah MP Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan, and Jempol MP Datuk Shamsulkahar Deli.

Adnan and Shamshulkahar did not attend because they are feeling unwell.

Photos of them in a carpeted room at Seri Pacific Hotel are going viral

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil uploaded a photo of his colleagues and BN leaders on Twitter at 11.50am today.

PKR secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail can be seen grinning from ear to ear while shaking the hands of Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and BN chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi are seen standing face-to-face with each other, divided by only a sofa.

Other leaders seen in the photo include MIC deputy president Datuk Seri M Saravanan and Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin.

Meanwhile, photos shared by MUDA with the media show Anwar and Zahid smiling while seated close to each other

Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli are also photographed in the room, the latter of whom is also smiling.

MUDA president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman can be seen leaning in, as if to listen to what Zahid has to say, in the photo.

The meeting between the two rival coalitions comes after the Yang di-Pertuan Agong set a deadline of 2pm today for all coalition and party leaders to nominate a candidate for prime minister

As of publishing time, no leaders from PH and BN have announced that the two coalitions have agreed to form the federal government and who is their prime minister of choice.
