Last year, Brazilian Playboy model Catarina Migliorini briefly caught the media’s attention with the news that she planned to sell her virginity to the highest bidder

In October, 2012, Catarina Migliorini was offered $780,000 for her virginity from a Japanese millionaire who bid for the privilege through a controversial online auction.

Migliorini said she pulled out of the original auction after she was introduced to the reputed auction winner, "Natsu." She didn't think he fit the description she had been given previously and became suspicious. She also said she believes Sisely was trying to defraud her and others with his documentary.

She had stated that she wanted to give 90 percent of the auction money to a non-governmental organization building houses in her state of Santa Catarina, but now claims she was never given the money nor did she lose her virginity.

The bidding ends Dec. 12, but Migliorini said the minimum bid for her to get into bed is $100,000. She told the Brazilian website PurePeople.com.br that her goal is to get $1.5 million.

About why she is selling her virginity again, she told The Huffington Post by email via a translator that:

"Well, after being featured by so many media outlets in so many countries, I decided to actually auction off my virginity."

Migliorini vehemently denied being a prostitute on the basis she was only selling her body the one time.

So what happens when someone auctions off their virginity? Does she have sex?

According to the terms and conditions of auction, the buyer must go through an STD test and background check first.

The buyer can only have intercourse (no kissing or any other sex act), and cannot include any fantasy, roleplay, or accoutrements.

Also, the sex will not be recorded for the documentary, although the time before and afterwards will be.

While auctioning off virginity requires one to go ahead with the deal by having sex with the highest bidder, in Catarina's case, she did not go ahead with her deal the first time she sold her virginity. So in all technicalities, she is still a virgin.

On her own website, she explains why she is re-auctioning her virginity:

"The auction did not happen as expected due to disagreements between Justin and me. I met Natsu in a restaurant in Sydney. He was not a man of 53 years as Justin said; he was young Japanese 21 years."

"I am still a virgin in every way and all the evidence, so, I never have had any sexual involvement and no one in this whole world can claim otherwise, and so I decided to make my own website to auction off my virginity and that time will be for real, so men or women who are interested can make their bids."

Catarina said she is prepared to do whatever it takes to prove she is truly a virgin. She says:

"I am willing to subject myself to any exams that are necessary," she said. "When I say I am a virgin it's because there is no one in the world that can prove the contrary. I never had sexual relations of any type with anyone, not vaginal, not anal and not oral."

Based on the reaction to her first attempt at selling her virginity, Migliorini is prepared for negative comments and is OK with them.

"I know that this is not a very conventional decision, but it is my decision," she said. "I am the sole owner of my own body. I am of legal age and have the right. I accept all criticism whether positive or negative, because talking is a right for all and is free."
