A man has been stealing his neighbours' cats and selling their meat to local restaurants as mutton

The man used a live sparrow to bait a trap cage, when a cat tried to get a quick feathered snack the cage would snap shut and the unlucky feline would be on the way to becoming "mutton".

When police eventually caught the man, who had reportedly given them the slip in the past, they found three sacks with 20 live cats inside piled up on his motorbike.

The man told police he soaked the meat in lamb's urine

It appears that the cat thief had a devious trick up his sleeve. To recreate an authentic mutton-like smell, he soaked the cat meat in lambs’ urine and oil. He admitted, “I sold the fake meat at wholesale prices to restaurants.”
