Delivery Company Vows To Help Cancer Patient Deliver 5 Years Worth Of Gifts To Loved Ones
The patient hopes that by doing this, his family and friends wouldn't feel too sad about his passing.
If you knew your time on this earth was shortened, how would you choose to spend your remaining days?
For this cancer patient, he chose to pick out presents to be delivered to his loved ones for five years after his passing.
A Facebook post by local courier company, Dr Parcel, on Thursday, 5 January, stated that they received a message from a man who had been diagnosed with leukaemia two years ago.
The patient said that his condition had worsened and that the chemotherapy treatment was painful and hard on his body.
Feeling like he didn't have long left to live, the anonymous patient was afraid he'd die with lots of regrets and leave his loved ones grieving.
Therefore, he asked for the courier company's help in delivering presents he had purchased for his loved ones for five consecutive years.
The patient said that the cost of delivery was not an issue to him, so long as his loved ones received his gifts
He had planned for his parents and girlfriend to receive his presents every six months and on their birthdays for five years.
The anonymous man also requested for his handwritten messages to be delivered along with the gifts.
"I don't care how much it will cost. Just help me send the gifts with the messages I wrote for them. At least they won't be sad when I leave," the man pleaded in his message.
Clearly touched by the man's message, the courier company said that its employees were speechless for five minutes after reading it
They said that this wasn't just any ordinary delivery task or package, but rather a "delivery of love."
The company vowed that they would personally help fulfil the patient's wish.
"We will work hard, stick to our core values, and put customers first. May everyone in the world be safe and happy," the company wrote.
