Stop Sharing That FAKE Malaysia Airlines Ad, It's Not Even A 777
A fake advert for Malaysia Airlines has been labelled "cold-hearted" and "tasteless" by angry internet users.
There's a nasty "ad" going around the Internet since 16 March 2014. It purports to show an old Malaysia Airlines ad, which eerily predicted the horrible events that led to the loss of MH370. It's horrible, it's wrong, and even worse, it's fake.
The fake ad shows a jet in Malaysia Airlines livery, with the words "Our New Boeing 777 Lose Yourself On a Journey of Epic Proportions," and below it, another connected ad, saying "Wherever You Go No One Will Ever Know."
hoax-slayer.comThe poster claims that the pictured plane is a Boeing 777. The ad is billed as an uncanny premonition of missing Boeing 777 aircraft Malaysia Airlines flight MH370.
sandrarose.com239 people are onboard, and their families are desperately awaiting word of their fate. This really isn't the time to be joking about it, if ever.
The strongest indication that this is a photo manipulation is how the plane shown is supposed to be a Boeing 777. If you know nothing about planes, it likely seems an accurate enough image and many people will likely be fooled. However, those persons who do know planes are saying the featured jet airline is NOT a Boeing 777, but is apparently an Airbus A380.
webpronews.comThe fake ad first appeared on the Twitter feed of @WillMcHoebag on 16 March 2014, which so far has been retweeted over 4,500 times
The message is a hoax. The poster is not a genuine Malaysia Airlines advertisement. Real Malaysia Airlines promotional material has been altered to include the fake slogans. The pictured aircraft is an A380, not a 777. The fake ad is apparently a misguided and very poor taste attempt at humour.
hoax-slayer.comThe fake ad has been ripped-off from a previous Malaysia Airlines commercial, which included the message: "Our new A380, a journey of epic proportions. The pride of our nation"
As noted in the real ad, the plane is not a Boeing 777, but an Airbus A380. The real ad copy stated, “Our new A380: A journey of epic proportions. The pride of our nation.”
