Group Of Men Allegedly Harassed A Filipino Actress And Her Teen Daughters At Sunway Lagoon
The alleged incident took place on Thursday.
Philippine actress Ruffa Gutierrez has claimed that she and her teen daughters were harassed by a group of men at Sunway Lagoon.
Gutierrez had shared the details of the 15 February incident as Instagram Stories and later posting them on her Twitter account.
While Gutierrez's original posts are no longer available, as Instagram Stories automatically disappear after 24 hours, an entertainment blog from the Philippines, Get It From Boy, had captured them and compiled into a YouTube video.
Gutierrez said that while she and her friend were buying food, "a group of old, creepy men were taking photos" of her kids "and blowing kisses, literally harassing them".
And while they tried to let go of the situation by walking to the waterpark, the group of men, 10 in total, showed up there, harassing her teen daughters again.
"But this time they did not know that my friend and I were right behind out girls. We stopped the guys and reprimanded them for whistling and they tried to attack us!!
"We came to Sunway Lagoon Malaysia to have fun with the children and did not realise it’s not safe at all!! Shocking!!" Gutierrez had written in her Instagram Stories.
She also said that when security at Sunway Lagoon tried to kick the men out, they posed for photos while showing "victory sign"
In one of her tweets, Gutierrez vented her anger, saying that theme parks should not let creepy men inside their establishments
In another tweet, the mother of two girls, added that the General Manager of Sunway Lagoon, Calvin Ho, reached out to her
Meanwhile, following the incident, Gutierrez said that while she reported the incident, she decided to leave and let Sunway Lagoon take care of the creeps. She requested for security to escort them to their car, adding that it was the most stressful day of her life.
While the incident, which took place on Thursday, was reported by several media outlets, NST Online, in its report earlier today, quoted Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Azlin Sadari saying that police have yet to be notified of the incident
According to Mohamad Azlin, they have yet to receive any reports related to the alleged disturbance case involving Gutierrez and teen daughters at the theme park.
"No report was lodged by the victim," NST Online quoted him as saying.
