Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah recently urged the public to avoid wearing your mask on your chin area as this will contaminate it

A graphic on his Facebook post on Sunday, 19 July, showed that your neck is exposed to bacteria and germs which can contaminate the inside of your mask when you place it there.

Pulling it to your chin and then wearing it again will only carry the germs or virus from your chin/neck area and potentially infect your mouth and nose.

He stressed to avoid wearing it this way when drinking, eating, or doing any activity that requires you to remove it

"Either you wear your mask properly or remove it completely," Noor Hisham explains in the caption.

His Facebook post has been shared over 28,000 times.
