Jewellery Store Robbed Off RM280K In 2 Minutes By 4 Youths At Lebuh Ampang

A popular goldsmith shop at Jalan Lebuh Ampang was robbed by four youths Saturday afternoon, 25 July. According to reports, they were armed and escaped with jewellery worth about RM280,000.
It only took them 2 minutes to escape with 2 trays of gold during the 2.42pm incident. During the robbery, 2 out of 4 youths riding a red and white coloured Honda bike entered and robbed the store.
There were five workers at the counters during the incident. According to KL CID Chief Zainuddin Ahmad, the robbers smashed the display showcase with a hammer and machete before escaping with the jewellery. They also wore helmets to avoid being identified.
“Police are analysing closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to identify all the suspects,” he told reporters. He added that the camera footage showed images of three mals at the location.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery. The loot comprised mostly large and valuable rings.
