A Kelantan entrepreneur has claimed that his BUDI95 quota was used without his knowledge

The Kelantan-based entrepreneur has alleged that another party used his subsidised RON95 quota under the BUDI95 scheme without his consent.

Fadhli Noor, 39, told Malaysiakini he only discovered the issue after checking his transaction records on the BUDI Madani website, where he found that just 78 litres remained for April.

Upon reviewing the records, he identified two transactions at a petrol station in Tumpat, Kelantan, on 5 April that he insists he did not make.

Fadhli said the transactions were impossible, as he was not even in Kelantan at the time

"During the date and time those transactions were made, I was in Kuantan. I have never filled petrol at that station.

"My identity card (MyKad) has also never been lost. So how could this misuse happen at a time when we are all supposed to safeguard the country's fuel supply?" he asked.

The two transactions in question involved purchases of 22 litres and 100 litres, respectively.

According to reports, this is not an isolated incident

Last week, Malaysiakini reported a similar case involving a woman from Sepang, Selangor, who also claimed her subsidised RON95 quota had been used without her knowledge.

So far, there have been no major updates on that case, apart from responses from BUDI Madani administrators stating that investigations are ongoing.

Fadhli said he takes the matter seriously, especially given how the subsidy system is meant to regulate fuel usage

"I usually buy RON95 for my motorcycle, as most of my business operations use diesel-powered vehicles. I have lodged a report with the authorities and hope those responsible will be brought to justice," he said.

He also questioned how transactions under the BUDI95 scheme could be carried out without his identity card.

"I hope the authorities will investigate this case seriously, including reviewing CCTV footage at the petrol station.

"We are concerned this activity may be widespread and carried out by smuggling syndicates in collusion with certain parties who have access to the public's personal data," he added.
