[VIDEO] Kind M'sian Lets Honest 19-Year-Old Rider Go After He Admitted To Hitting His Car
"I did something wrong, so I can't run away," said the rider.
A video of a Malaysian man kindly excusing a food delivery rider for crashing into his car recently went viral on social media
In the one-minute clip, the black Toyota Alphard driver recorded a video of himself talking to the rider on the side of the road.
He asked the rider if he crashed his motorcycle into his car, to which the rider admitted and apologised.
The man then asked the rider why he did not flee after the accident, to which the rider responded, "I did something wrong, so I can't run away."
"Wow, you're good, you're honest," the man said and gave the rider a thumbs up in the video.
The man initially wanted to seek compensation from the rider, however, after talking to the teenager, he decided not to
In the video, the man asked the rider how much was he willing to pay for the damages, to which the rider responded that it was up to him.
"How much do you earn in a day?" the man inquired.
"About RM80 per day," the rider replied.
After telling the man how much he earns, the rider added that he is only 19 years old, which surprised the man.
"What if I tell you that you can just go and it's okay? Is that okay?" the man asked.
"Then it's my rezeki (sustenance)," said the rider.
He then gave the rider a fist bump and let the young gentleman go while assuring him that it is fine.
Netizens were touched by the man's kindness and left supportive comments
Many users thanked the man for his kind gesture.
Another commented that both of them are good people because the rider did not run away while the man was understanding of the situation.
"This is what makes Malaysia peaceful and harmonious. Salute!" commented another.
As of writing, the video has garnered over 3.9 million views and over 300,000 likes on TikTok.
