Jempol police chief Supt Muhd Nur Hishamuddin Hashim said that police received a report on the incident at 11.50pm Tuesday night

Police found the three bodies at the scene, Hishamuddin Hashim said, adding that they also found seven dead goats and two dead dogs with burn marks on their fur.

According to a report in the Borneo Post Online, the Jempol police chief said that a family member had earlier asked neighbours for help to find the victims.

"Neighbours who went to the farm initially heard the cries of the injured child before finding the three victims. In the incident, it was believed to be raining heavily with lightning at that time," Hishamuddin said, as reported by the Borneo Post Online.

Police classified the case as sudden death after a post-mortem report found that all three had died of electric shock from lightning
