Look, Huge Cartoons Critical Of PM Najib Displayed On The Streets Of Switzerland!

Recently in Switzerland, Zulkiflee Anwar was bestowed with the '2016 Cartooning for Peace Award' at Le Palais Eynard in Genève

In commemoration of which, 10 of his giant-size cartoons are currently being publically exhibited at the lac de Genève till June

Zulkiflee Anwar, popularly know as Zunar, whose several comic books have either been banned or confiscated in Malaysia for being too critical of the BN Government, was detained by police twice and is currently facing nine sedition charges and up to 43 years in jail

In his cartoons put on display on the streets of Switzerland, Zunar has presented issues of corruption in the government, attack on the freedom of expression, conspiracy against Anwar Ibrahim and the abuse of power under the Malaysian National Security Council

Meanwhile, the cartoons have been described as "an insult to a leader whom the people voted for" by Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak, who also thinks that all this is "a collective effort to topple the prime minister", reported Mkini

Salleh said Malaysia was a democratic country which did not stop anyone from voicing their opinions, but this had to be done in the proper manner. Besides giving a negative image of Malaysia to other countries, such actions were seen as sabotaging the national economy and affecting the confidence of investors in Malaysia.

Responding to which, Zunar, in a statement on Facebook, said:
"If a cartoonist can topple the PM, that is not illegal, but hilarious"
