A convoy of Malaysian bikers have drawn the irk of Thai netizens after it blocked traffic at a busy road intersection in southern Thailand recently

Bernama reported that the bikers were caught on camera as they blocked incoming traffic at a road intersection in Narathiwat, a Southern province in Thailand which also serves as a border for Kelantan.

It was said that the video was first uploaded on a Thai FB page on 27 September, several days after the incident. Since then, the clip has garnered widespread attention on social media and it was reposted on several Malaysian FB pages.

The clip shows several motorcyclists, who were believed to be marshals of the convoy, blocking incoming traffic at the intersection to let the convoy pass through

The marshals were not accompanied by any local authorities, which prompted many to wonder if it was legal to deliberately block incoming vehicles in Thailand without any supervision.

Bernama also added that Thai netizens lamented that the bikers were riding powerful motorcycles at high speed.

Malaysian netizens took notice of the viral video and criticised the actions of the bikers

Some also pointed out that the bikers should adhere to local traffic rules while others took the opportunity to apologise for the behaviours of their fellow countrymen.

While Thai authorities have not received any complaints or police report from the public regarding the incident, the biker group in question has stepped forward to apologise for the negligence

The Kelantan Chopper Garage Club (CGK) today publicly apologised to the Narathiwat governor and the people of Thailand for its negligence, MMO reported.

The club's president Diami Yusoff said the letter of apology was handed over to Thailand’s acting Consul-General in Kota Baru, Jantarat Ngamchana at the consulate here about 10am.

“It happened spontaneously and we admit that it was an offence and promise if we are given the permission to hold such a programme again, we will respect and follow the safety rules in the country,” he said.
