The car was reportedly parked near the entrance of the hypermarket.
According to a Facebook community page, the child was
"helplessly crying and sweating" when shoppers noticed she was left alone in the car "under the hot sun", with the doors locked and windows shut

Fearing that the child could have suffocated or gotten heatstroke, FB community page Kia.my noted that passersby quickly notified a security guard of the situation. The hypermarket's management then made public announcements to locate the car owner.
It was alleged that the girl was locked in the car for about 30 minutes before a man – believed to be her father – appeared to get to his car. When he realised that he was being confronted, he "hurriedly got into his car and drove off".
