McDonald's Stands Up For Its Staff After Video Shows Man Hurling Abuses Over Ice Cream
The man didn't win any hearts with his angry outburst.
On Thursday, a video showing a customer shouting and hurling abuses at McD's employees over some ice cream fiasco went viral
The McDonald's outlet where the incident occurred was a Dessert Kiosk in Hougang Mall, Singapore. While it's not clear as to what exactly prompted the man to hurls vulgarities at the workers, it appeared that he was upset over being asked to make payment before he could allegedly finish his order.
While staff at the McD's Dessert Kiosk apologised to the customer, trying to explain that it was a matter of miscommunication, the irate customer refused to calm down, criticising the service and demanding to talk to the "restaurant manager".
"What service is this, you tell me. Is the McDonald's service like that?" he says, at which point, one of the McD's employees apologises, "Sir, I'm so sorry".
"Don't tell me sorry. I very angry," the man yells.
"What! I haven't order finish, money money money, what is this? Miscommunication? And keep on asking, money where? Money where?," retorts the man.
"What you talk to her? I want to see what action you all do to her. Or you got any higher authority to talk to me? You're what? Manager? Restaurant Manager? I want to talk to the restaurant manager," he can be heard yelling in the video.
The man is later served ice cream by the staff, who apologises to him again.
Needless to say, the man didn't win any hearts with his angry outburst at seemingly helpless and surprisingly calm employees at the McD's outlet. He was severely criticised and condemned.

Meanwhile, McDonald's is standing up for its staff, saying that its employees do not deserve to be shouted at as shown in the video
"We are aware of this incident that took place in our restaurant," a McDonald's spokesperson said.
"While our employees strive to do their best every day to serve our customers with care, we also hope that any unintended misunderstandings can be resolved amicably.
"We believe that under any circumstance, our employees - just like any human being - should be treated with respect, and do not deserve to be shouted at in the manner as portrayed in the video," the spokesperson was quoted as saying by Channel NewsAsia.
