At RM3,888, This Is Malaysia's Most Expensive Mooncake
Its ingredient list is pretty premium.
It is a luxury mooncake called the zhen yue
It was produced right here in Malaysia by Liangxian Food Co., a company specialising in mooncakes.
It's made with 16 different ingredients and weighs 1.2kg!
The mooncake is 4cm tall and 17.5cm in diameter. It's four times the size of a regular mooncake!
Managing Director of the company, Dr. Liang Guohui, said he even consulted Chinese medicine practitioners so he could completely understand the nutritional value of all the raw ingredients.
What makes it so premium? What's in it?
Its filling is made of premium ingredients such as cordyceps, ginseng, saffron, royal jelly, molasses, lotus seed, jujube, longan and other Chinese herbs.
It even contains 24K edible gold!
The 'skin' of the mooncake is made of highly nutritious (and expensive) bird's nest that was chosen to retain all the essence and nutritional values of the fillings.
The mooncake also does not have any preservatives.
It's now in the Malaysian Book of Records as Malaysia's most expensive mooncake
Dr Liang hopes that the record will help spread the word of his product to other countries as well.
If you're interested in buying this mooncake yourself, you'll have to order it two days in advance
And once it's produced, Dr. Liang advises that you consume it within three days since there are no preservatives to stop it from spoiling.
He also suggests sharing with the whole family or bringing it to a party.
This is definitely not something you can finish yourself!
Unless you're up for a challenge that is.
