Motorcyclist Dies From Falling Off JB Flyover After Sending Brother To Vaccine Appointment

A 21-year-old man died after falling off the Eastern Dispersal Link (EDL) expressway flyover in Johor Bahru

According to Berita Harian, Johor Bahru South police chief ACP Raub Selamat said the incident occurred around 11.20am on Friday, 24 September, while the victim was riding his motorcycle and his 19-year-old brother was riding pillion.

He said the victims were on their way home to Pasir Gudang after the younger brother's COVID-19 vaccination appointment in the morning.

The police chief said the victim is believed to have suddenly lost control of his vehicle and hit the concrete wall at KM4 of the expressway

"The victim is believed to have skidded and was thrown off the EDL expressway, approximately from a height of 20ft, resulting in severe head injuries and he died at the scene," Raub said, as quoted by Kosmo!.

Meanwhile, the younger brother who only fell on the road sustained minor injuries.

Raub said the victim's body was sent to Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post-mortem

Meanwhile, the younger brother was sent to the same hospital for outpatient treatment.

He added that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
