Muslim Traders In Perlis Banned From Selling Cooked Food Before 2PM During Ramadan
As the fasting month of Ramadan began, Muslim traders in Perlis are barred from selling cooked food before 2pm
According to a Bernama report, the ban has been put in place by the Perlis Islamic Religious Department (JAIPs)
JAIPs' Enforcement Division spokesman issued a statement, saying action would be taken against traders who did not adhere to the ruling under Section 25(1)(a) of the Islamic Syariah Enactment 1991 (Amendment 2012).
Under the Enactment, for the first offence, a fine of RM3K or imprisonment for up to two years or both can be given
However, the offender is liable to a fine of RM5,000 or a jail sentence of up to three years, or both for second and subsequent offences, the spokesman added.
