19-Year-Old UiTM Student Admits Flushing Newborn Down Toilet

Polis Terengganu yakin dapat menyelesaikan kes buang bayi yang ditemui dalam loji kumbahan berdekatan Kolej Redang, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) dalam tempoh terdekat.

Mayat bayi perempuan yang cukup sifatnya ditemui di dalam loji kumbahan Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

The body was found by a treatment plant worker who was carrying out maintenance work.
According to a source, the plant was connected to one of the university's dormitory block.

"At first, they thought the floating object was a doll."

Dungun police chief Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaacub said, "After realising that it was actually a body of a baby, they (cleaning workers) alerted the university management and the police."

Ahmad Zailani said initial investigation found that the baby sustained a fractured skull and shoulder.

The student, from Selangor, was identified after police, with help from UiTM staff, screened the students living in the campus dormitory block.

Police would be detaining the student after a medical examination, while her 20-year-old boyfriend is being tracked down for questioning. Both of them are from Selangor.

Investigation would be carried out under Section 318 of the Penal Code for concealing birth by secretly disposing the body.
