Alamak, This Sign Was Spotted In KLIA2
"Please be inform..."
You know that Ace of Base song that goes, "I saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes?"
Well, they might have been singing about this sign at a duty-free shop in KLIA2…
First posted by Malaysian Digest, it notifies customers that STEB (security tamper-evident bags) for liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs), are only provided for purchases made at the Eraman Malaysia duty-free outlets.
What the notice should, however, have read instead:
"Kindly be advised that we do not provide or sell security tamper-evident bags (STEB) for any LAGs items purchased outside of this outlet. Your co-operation on this matter is highly appreciated."
OR even this:
"Please be informed that we do not provide or sell STEB bag for any LAGs items which are not purchased from this outlet. Your kind co-operation is highly appreciated."
In case, the notice is still confusing you and you're wondering what an STEB bag looks like, here you go:
The notice, which was signed and approved by the airport's operations supervisor from its management team, and also stamped by Malaysia Airports Sdn Bhd, has been described as "utterly embarrassing" by the anonymous sender to Malaysian Digest
He pointed out how this showed that important notices such as these were not thoroughly vetted through and carefully approved prior to printing and displaying them on the counters.
Furthermore, he noted that such errors would only tarnish the reputation of the companies that endorsed the notice as the Malaysia Airports logo was clearly printed alongside the Eraman Malaysia logo in the display.
