The young girl was on her way to Sekolah Rendah Agama Al Akram at Kampung Datuk Keramat, when four men tried to kidnap her. According to Wangsa Maju district police chief Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif, two men, dressed in women's clothing had approached the girl and had tried to pull her into the van.

"One of the suspects pointed a knife at the girl, but she fought back, kicking and punching their faces, causing them to get back into the van and speed off," added Roy.

The girl then ran into the school compound and quickly narrated the frightening incident to one of her teachers, who proceeded to lodge a police report on the matter.

So the attempted kidnapping was basically done by four men in a white van and two of which who were dressed in women's clothing. Roy also mentioned that the police force was not able to identify the plate number as there are no closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) at the scene.

This is not the only attempted kidnapping case around the area. The teacher from Sekolah Rendah Agama Al Akram, informed the police of another incident that happened earlier this month.

The incident that happened on 5 August, also happened around 1.50pm near the school area in Kampung Datuk Keramat.

Two men in a motorcycle had tried to abduct two sisters, aged seven and 10, who were walking to the school in the afternoon.

"The pillion rider grabbed the younger girl by the hand, but she fought back and screamed, causing him to let go and leave the scene," explained Roy.

In their efforts to ensure that this doesn't happen again, the police force has increased the frequency of patrols in the area. However, no arrests have been made regarding this matter to date.
