Penang Biker Dies A Horrific Death After He Crashed Into A Lamppost

His body was cut in two due to the impact of the crash.

A 31-year-old man from Penang was killed yesterday, 29 November when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a lamppost

The horrific accident happened at the elevated section of the Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway (Federal Route 3113), according to a report in New Straits Times.

According to the report, the motorcycle rider was cut in two due to the impact of the crash.

The victim was from Sungai Rusa

Identified as Nor Azli Sharif Hassan, he died instantly at the scene.

According to Southwest district police chief Superintendent, A.A. Anbalagan, police received a call about the incident about 2.10pm

"The victim, heading towards Batu Maung, is believed to have lost control of his motorcycle while riding along the expressway, causing him to skid to the right side of the road and his body hit the lamp post at the road divider, splitting into two," he was quoted as saying by New Straits Times.

Post mortem showed that the victim died as a result of "polytrauma due to road traffic accident", he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
