[PHOTOS] 8 Passengers And 14 Crew Onboard Injured After SIA Flight Hit By Major Turbulence

On 18 October, Saturday night at 10:15 pm, Singapore Airlines Flight SQ 424, experiencing air turbulence, was unable to land safely, hitting the runway twice and injuring 22 people onboard

Of those injured, 8 were passengers and 14 crew. The SIA Flight SQ 424, enroute to Bombay, India from Singapore, was carrying 408 passengers and 25 crew onboard, SIA spokesperson said.

The extent of the injuries during the turbulence aboard Flight SQ 424 on Saturday evening were not given, but SIA said all the injured were attended to by medical personnel on arrival at the Bombay airport.

The injured were immediately attended by the airport doctors and paramedics on duty. However, decision of shifting all of them was taken and the passengers were shifted to Seven Hills hospital. The crew members were rushed to Hiranandani Hospital as the airline insisted to admit their staff there.

According to the writer of the Bangalore Aviation article Devesh Agarwal, one of the crew hit his or her nose, resulting in blood stains in the cabin.

A SIA spokesperson said that the airlines' immediate concern is for the well-being of its passengers and crew, adding that "SIA will provide full assistance to the authorities in their investigations"
