On 21 May 2014, the Penang legislative assembly was intruded for the first time in history when DAP assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer's "UMNO celaka" statement triggered UMNO members to retaliate

Seri Delima assemblyman R.S.N. Rayer, who sparked a massive protest by saying "celaka Umno" which saw the Penang legislative assembly being intruded for the first time in history yesterday, said "celaka" is a common word and should be taken in jest. The lawyer from DAP said when he uttered the remark in the assembly on Tuesday, he wanted to say "damn it" but he could not use the expression in English.

Rayer had reportedly uttered the words "Umno celaka" after accusing several state Umno leaders of trying to incite the people through a demonstration firing up the sentiments of May 13, 1969.

It was said that at least 50 people were outside the Penang Dewan Rakyat by 8.30am. While FRU guarded the gates, 10 members managed to slip through.

"I saw a YouTube video of the incident. The police did not do anything and allowed the mob to storm into the building," Mohamad, also known as Mat Sabu, said during a ceramah at the Kuta Bali Food Court in Farlim, Penang, tonight.

"People have a right to gather, to protest. They can even say all sorts of things about the politicians, but this is an institution of democracy and it was shown no respect. Malaysia has been shamed by this incident," he said. "A breach of the country's law-making institution is a very serious offence and it can also be seen as a breach of the constitution."
