The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has bought a painting that depicts members of parliament (MPs) in the Dewan Rakyat as apes and frogs

According to the official Facebook account of the Selangor palace today, 12 April, the painting attracted the Sultan's attention as soon as he laid his eyes on it.

The painting now hangs in his private study room.

The palace also said the Sultan hopes to auction the piece one day to raise funds for charity.

It is unclear where he bought the painting from or who the painter behind the artwork is.

The painting depicts Azhar Azizan Harun, also known as Art Harun, as the Dewan Rakyat speaker

The speaker and two officers are depicted as humans at the front of the hall.

However, politicians on both sides of the benches are illustrated as various primates and frogs.
