It's "raining cats and dogs" is a phrase we all are too familiar with but have you heard of "raining octopuses and starfishes"?

No, no, not like in a metaphorical way, but in all its literal sense. Would you believe if we told you that recently in a Chinese city it actually rained sea creatures?!

Earlier this week, in the seaside city of Qingdao, in eastern Shandong Province on the east coast of China, a severe storm caused the extraordinary moment when an actual octopus and starfish among other sea creatures literally fell from the sky.

According to photos circulating on the Internet and several media reports, different sea creatures were seen stuck to car windscreens after the massive rainstorm.

The Qingdao Meteorological Administration said that the violent weather was recorded late on Tuesday afternoon with Hurricane-force winds blowing at a shocking 34.8 miles per second, registering storm force 12 on the Beaufort scale.

Reportedly, the wild weather conditions in Qingdao whipped up waterspouts in the Yellow Sea, which began hoovering up sea creatures like shrimp, octopus, starfish and molluscs before releasing them when they hit motorists on the land.

This incredible photograph showing an actual, live octopus falling from the sky on a car's windscreen after being swept up and away by the heavy winds has gone viral on Chinese social media sites

Although looking at the scene on the ground, it won't be long before sea creatures will soon take control of the flooded city ;)
