PM Muhyiddin Is Now Under 14-Day Quarantine After Officer Tests Positive For COVID-19
The Prime Minister tested negative for the coronavirus.
Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has been placed under a 14-day self-quarantine at his residence after an official present during a post-Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, 20 May, tested positive for COVID-19
The Prime Minister's test came negative after he underwent a COVID-19 screening earlier Friday morning, 22 May, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office.
"Nevertheless, according to the supervision and observation order for COVID-19 Section 15(1) Act 342, the Prime Minister has to be in self-quarantine at home for 14 days beginning Friday evening," it read.
Others present during the meeting have also been ordered to go for screening and self-quarantine at home for 14 days beginning 22 May
Previously, Dr Mahathir Mohamad was placed under mandatory quarantine at home after his meeting with Bandar Kuching MP
