A 21-Year-Old Student In Terengganu Made RM30,000 A Month Dealing Drugs
From high life to facing the gallows.
Earlier on 28 September, Terengganu police raided the home of a 21-year-old student in Kampung Simpang Tok Ku, Terengganu, seizing 1.25 kilogram of psychotropic pills worth RM180,000
District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Idris Abdul Rafar said that the student is believed to be a member of 'Mat Duan' gang, said to be active in the drug trade in Kuala Terengganu and Setiu.
If convicted, the unnamed student faces the death sentence.
However, prior to his arrest, the 21-year-old was living the high life, pocketing around RM30,000 a month, said police, as a drug dealer
According to a report in the NST, the police raided his home acting on a tip-off, during which they found two parcels containing 11,993 stimulant pills hidden in one of the rooms.
The seizure of the drugs, which has a street value of about RM180,000, is the state police's biggest in 2015. Initial investigation showed that the student was earning RM30,000 a month from his drug deals.
He has been remanded for investigation under 'Section 39B of the Drug Dangerous Act 1952', punishable with mandatory death
"Further checks also established that the suspect obtained his drug supply from his gang leader based in Rantau Panjang, Kelantan," he said, adding that state police were working with their Kelantan counterparts to track down the ringleader. Police also seized a motorcycle and RM5,500 cash believed to be proceeds from drug sale.
