Bukit Aman has suspended the policeman who accidentally shot a child in an accident in Kampung Belanja Kiri Parit on Oct 14.

Perak Police chief Datuk Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the directive was made on Friday and a letter on the suspension was expected to be received next week.

"The letter will be handed to the policeman concerned. How long he is to be suspended will depend on the situation but normally it depends on the duration of the hearing. But I believe the case will be given priority," he told reporters after handing over prizes to winners of the Inspector-General of Police Cup Golf Competition, here today.

It is learnt that Mohd Amar Mohd Azizi was wheeled into the operation theatre of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here at 8am yesterday.
"A team of six specialists began operating on Amar at 10am," said a source, adding that the procedure was completed at 12.30pm.
