Rosmah's Roti to Help Children, Refugees and Old Folks
The Roti 1Malaysia Charity Programme (Persatuan Kebajikan Program Roti 1Malaysia) was officially launched on the 31st December, 2012 by Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor, wife of the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Now, the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor has proposed that the Roti 1Malaysia Charity Programme be extended to Permata, a government-backed programme for early childhood education.

The fresh bread and pastries are sent daily to about 5,000 people from 60 old folk's and disabled homes, orphanages, hospices, refugee centres and a HIV shelter.

Rosmah launches Roti 1Malaysia
The programme undertook its trial run in August 2011, in which quality bread and pastries were collected from several participating hotels and the support received has been very encouraging.
The programme also helps to curb food wastage and defray running cost of the homes, which mostly are surviving based on public donations.
