Three security guards hacked up like 'meat' in Cheras
Two men launched a savage attack upon three security workers at an apartment complex here yesterday, hacking away at their victims with parangs as though they “were meat”, The Star reported on its website today.
One of the assailants slashed three guards with a parang while his accomplice smashed the guardhouse’s windows.
Another guard managed to escape unhurt.

A resident coming back after buying breakfast was among the first to witness the gruesome sight of the three guards lying in a pool of blood in the lift lobby.
“When I went out at about 6.50am, everything was fine. But when I came back, I noticed the windows of the guardhouse was smashed. I wanted to park my car but a guard told me to run away because there were thieves in the compound."

Resident association chairman of Vistaria Residensi, Bruce Tan, says this is not the first time
Resident association chairman Bruce Tan, 31, said this was the second attack on the guards in the past month. The previous attack was not so serious. They only punched a guard and broke the window.
There is a CCTV recording of the attack
“The attack this time was so horrifying. I watched the CCTV recording and saw the guards being chopped like they were meat,” Bruce Tan said.

It is unclear if the video was able to identify the assailants as they both wore crash helmets during the event.
Police investigate as security guards stabilise in HUKM
“Atik had the worst injuries, he underwent surgery yesterday,” said Basarudin, after visiting the victims at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
Three security guards who were viciously slashed in an unprovoked attack at a condominium are in stable condition and recovering. Their colleague Basarudin Ibrahim, 31, said one of the victims had bandages all over his body.

Why attack the guards?
The victims still did not know why they were attacked. “They just said the men left as suddenly as they appeared,” one of them said.
