Lampao Chuenchob, who worked in a school located in Thailand's northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani, was forced to resign from her job of two years after she was diagnosed with cancer.

However, students weren't going to let their beloved "Auntie Dang" leave just like that. They decided to throw a special farewell ceremony in her honour.

Upon arriving at the school's meeting hall on her last day, she was bestowed with a flower garland

A student took to the stage to say a few words on behalf of the entire student body who was present in the hall.

"I’d like to thank you for not only taking care of our building, but taking care of us all," a student representative said as quoted by Coconuts Bangkok.

"We thank you so much. Now, due to a health issue, you have to rest and take care of yourself. We thank you for what you’ve done for us and apologize for the wrong we’ve done to you. Please apologize if we’ve ever caused trouble to you or making the classrooms dirty," the student continued.

Auntie Dang's eyes began to swell with tears.

After the speech, the student joined the rest in a song dedicated to Auntie Dang

With tears streaming down her cheeks, Auntie Dang said this is the first time anyone has done something like this for her.

"I’m just a janitor. You shouldn’t have done this. No one has ever done this for me. Thanks to all of you," she said.

Teachers and guardians at the school also poured out their love and respect for Auntie Dang by donating to help pay for her medical bills

It was said that Auntie Dang was the only janitor who cleaned the classrooms of the students in the EEP (Excellent Educational Program), a specialised curriculum for those gifted in math and science.

That was such a heartfelt gesture, can't say we're not touched. :') Well done, students! And we hope for your speedy recovery, Auntie Dang!
