According to Yonhap, which quoted a police officer, a woman, aged 65 and identified only by the initial G, had died of a heart attack and that no autopsy would be scheduled. It further reported that G was in Seoul to attend her daughter's wedding slated for next week.

The Korea Observer website, meanwhile, said that the death occurred in a room at Hotel Shilla in central Seoul at 12.45pm.

However, the reports claiming Robert Kuok's wife was found dead are actually false, according to The Star. Sources close to the family told The Star that the woman was not Kuok's wife, Ho Poh Lin.
