thestar.com.myThis was related by a mother and a guardian of the two 10-year-old boys at a press conference at a public hall in Taman Permai here yesterday.
One of the two boys, Muhammad Naswinder Muhammad Hamid, was also present.
themalaymailonline.comHis classmate, Mohd Izat Iqbal Mohd Harith, was said to be too distraught over the incident to talk to anyone.

Naswinder’s uncle, Muktasim Hashim, said the teacher had gone overboard in disciplining the children. “He had caned the boys twice each before that, but chose to humiliate them by making them wear bells around their necks and calling them cows in front of the class,” he said.
themalaymailonline.com“If that was not bad enough, he took pictures of them on his mobile phone and threatened to post them on Facebook before asking the boys to eat grass or get another 10 strokes of the rotan,” Muktasim was quoted as saying today.
themalaymailonline.comWhile the boys were eventually spared from eating grass, Muktasim said his family was demanding that the teacher be transferred to another school.
thestar.com.myThe 25-year-old teacher was said to have apologised but the families have called for him to be transferred out
“The teacher apologised when we met him at the police station yesterday but that is insufficient and in no way remedies the situation.

“Why should he be penalised and denied the chance at an education in the Chinese medium due to someone else's mistake?” she asked, noting that SJKC Khai Meng was the only Chinese primary school here.
thestar.com.myState Education Department director Muhamad Roli Hassan said he had asked the Batang Padang district education office to look into the matter, adding that he was awaiting a full report
Meanwhile, Tanjung Malim MP Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan said the punishment on the two boys was uncalled for.
“Teachers must be careful when carrying out punishment, especially in this multi-cultural society.
themalaymailonline.com“They must always look into the sensitivities and taboos of each specific race and religion,” said the MCA secretary-general.
MCA Wanita chief Datuk Heng Seai Kie said: ”It is not right to punish pupils in such manner, regardless of the mistakes they had committed,” she added.
