Damanhuri Mahmod, who is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Tabung Haji (TH) Properties Sdn Bhd, has asked for forgiveness over a video in which he was caught shouting expletives during a meeting

In the video, which went viral over the week, the TH Properties CEO was seen using profanity in English and Bahasa Malaysia repeatedly during an internal management meeting.

Following the virality of the video, Damanhuri has now apologised over the incident.

"My behaviour does not reflect the value of the company and I apologise for it. We will strive towards a more positive direction to create a more harmonious work environment fat the TH Properties," he said.

The matter, however, seems far from over

According to Ahmad Marzuk Shaary, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department in charge of Religious Affairs, the TH Properties CEO and several others were expected to be called in by the division.

"I was told that it was a closed-door meeting involving the agency's administrative staff and in the video, the top personnel was seen uttering expletives at others present. We have begun our internal investigation after the video went viral. The probe is more to identifying the cause of the incident and how the video leaked," Ahmad Marzuk was quoted as saying by New Straits Times today, 27 December.

The Deputy Minister also said that the video does not reflect the company's values.

"It is just a lapse committed by the top staff of the company. He has already apologised but I believe a thorough and comprehensive investigation from an administrative aspect must be carried out," he said.
