Tourism Ministry Advises Malaysians To Stay Away From North Korea
Additionally, the Malaysian Government has ended visa-free entry for N. Koreans.
The President of the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA), Datuk Hamzah Rahmat, says that Malaysians should heed Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz's advice and stay away from North Korea
Following the murder of the elder half-brother of Kim Jong-un, Nazri has discouraged Malaysians from visiting North Korea, describing the country as "a rogue state" which is highly unpredictable
"I don't encourage Malaysians to visit North Korea. You cannot predict what they will do," the Culture and Tourism Minister was quoted as saying by The Star Online.
Agreeing with Nazri, MATTA President today said that in the light of what happened at KLIA2, it would be prudent to heed the advice
He added that such travel advisory would apply to any destination where security of our citizens cannot be assured.
"It is the fiduciary duty of all travel agents to place the safety of travelers above all else."
