2 Children Drowned In A Water Catchment In Kajang

Both were pronounced dead at the scene and the bodies sent to Kajang Hospital.

On 5 October, two children drowned in a pool of water at Jalan Cheras Prima, Kajang

The children were identified as eight-year-old Mohd Rayan Ikram Rozilah and 10-year-old Nur Farisah.

As reported by Bernama, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) director Norazam Khamis said that an emergency call was received around 3pm.

"The children were pronounced dead at the scene by the medical team and the bodies handed over to the police," Norazam said, in an interview with Bernama.

The victims were also sent to Kajang Hospital for an autopsy.

Badruzzaman Borhanudin told Bernama that he rushed to save the both of them after being told that they fell into the pool.

"I immediately jumped into the pool but found no one. So I climbed onto a nearby tree and saw one of the victims afloat. Once again I got into the pool to retrieve him," Badruzzaman said.

"After that, I went in again and with the help of a passer-by we managed to pull out the other victim. I never thought of my own safety then."
