Two Good Samaritans Rescue A Boy Locked Inside Car After His Mum Refused To Break Window

The incident happened at Bandaran Berjaya in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, at noon Saturday, 27 December.

Earlier today, 27 December, two strangers helped rescue a boy, believed to be seven or eight years old, who was locked inside a car, with its engine powered on, at Bandaran Berjaya in the city

The sleeping boy's mother initially refused to break its window until she was given RM200. The Star reported via a witness, who wished to be known as Hiew, that the mother left her son inside the car while she and her daughter went down to a restaurant.

“I was eating inside the restaurant and saw her go down. After a while, I saw the woman trying to open the car door by picking the lock but she failed,” said the witness, who only wanted to be known as Hiew.

It was only after two men gave her RM100 each that she allowed them to break the window and rescue her child. The boy, who woke up from the noise, was unhurt in the incident.

A medical officer who was off duty at the time gave the boy a brief check-up while waiting for the help to arrive.
