The pair was taken to court by Johor Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)

The pair pleaded guilty after charges were read out to them in court, and appealed to Judge Kamarudin Kamsun for a lighter sentence.

They also promised not to repeat the offence.

On top of a RM10,000 fine, the man and woman were eventually sentenced to three and seven days in jail respectively

According to Judge Kamarudin, the pair faces maximum punishment for bribing traffic cops as it is a serious offence.

He also wishes that the punishment serves as a warning to the public.
