Malaysian University Student Killed In 7-Storey Plunge On Campus
The incident happened at Taylor's University's Lakeside Campus.
Earlier on Wednesday, 5 August, a 20-year-old student fell to his death from a height of seven storeys at the Lakeside Campus here
According to a report in The Star, the victim's body has been sent to University Malaya Medical Centre for a post-mortem.
After the news of the alleged suicide surfaced on social media, Taylor's University posted on its Facebook page, confirming the death of the student. However, it didn't say anything about suicide.
The Star reported, citing District ACP Yahaya Ramli, that authorities were alerted of the incident at around 12.45pm on Wednesday, and that the deceased had been identified as a Malaysian
"The auxiliary policeman at the campus said the body was discovered at the bottom of one of the blocks in the university compound."
"Initial investigations have revealed that there was no foul play involved," he said.
Lakeside Campus is Taylor's University's main campus. It was built in 2010, the same year it was awarded university status, to accommodate with the expanding amount of student intake.
Founded in 1969 as a college, Taylor's University is a private university in Subang Jaya, Selangor. It was was awarded university college status in 2006, and university status in 2010.
Alongside the main education facilities such laboratories, computer labs and kitchen, they also built a commercial block to help the students with education materials as well as restaurants.
