Free Trip To The US: Malaysian Students Wanted For This Three-Week Exchange Programme
The Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Program (SEAYLP) will take place in April 2018.

The Public Affairs Section of the US Embassy is looking for secondary school Malaysian students to join the Southeast Asia Youth Leadership Program (SEAYLP) where participants will be able to go on a three-week exchange programme to the US.
The programme, which will be focused on leadership and youth development, is sponsored by the US Embassy and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US Department of State.
Selected Malaysian students will be able to participate in this programme, alongside the students from nine other member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The SEALYP programme will take place in April 2018
During the three-week programme, the selected participants will live with American families for most of the exchange period. They will have multiple opportunities to not just interact with local American youth and educators, but also learn how to work and live with other people of different social and cultural backgrounds.
Selected students will be expected to be active participants throughout the whole programme to learn the skills to be effective leaders in their schools and communities through the various interactive activities that will be focused on civic education, leadership, diversity, and volunteerism.
Who is eligible?
The eligibility criteria below apply to those who are interested in joining the SEALYP programme:
• Students who are currently residing in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur
• Will be at least 15 years old and not more than 17 years old by 1 April 2018
• Have a high school graduation year of 2018 or later
• Have strong English skills
• Have permission from both parent(s)/guardian(s) and schools to participate in the entire program

Adults also stand a chance to join this programme as chaperone
These are the requirements that applicants must meet to qualify as a chaperone, as stipulated in the Adult Mentor Application document that was uploaded by the US Embassy:
• Currently residing in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur
• Work with youth in a professional or volunteer capacity
• Well respected in the community
• Have strong English skills
• Intend to continue working with or for youth in their careers
