[VIDEO] 2 Men Die After Being Thrown Out Of A Moving Garbage Truck In Klang

The garbage truck collided with a lorry on Jalan Meru Tambahan, Klang.

Two waste collectors were killed in a tragic accident involving a garbage truck and a lorry on Monday, 16 November

According to Bernama, the men were thrown out of the moving vehicle when it crashed into a lorry on Jalan Meru Tambahan, Klang around 1.30pm.

The deceased have been identified as 30-year-old Effendi Salleh and 41-year-old Bangladesh national, Mofij Ullah. Meanwhile, three other men involved in the accident sustained minor injuries on their bodies and heads.

Authorities believe that the garbage truck had faulty brakes that may have caused the accident

Selangor Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department chief Supt Azman Shari'at told Harian Metro that the garbage truck came from Jalan Bukit Cerakah and crashed into the lorry carrying soil at Jalan Meru Tambahan.

He explained, "The accident happened after the traffic lights at Jalan Meru Tambahan. Both victims were thrown out of the truck due to the impact of the collision and died at the scene."

The case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987

Meanwhile, both of the victim's bodies have been sent to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Klang Hospital for further action, as reported by Bernama.

Videos of the accident scene have been circulating social media and authorities are urging those who witnessed the accident to contact investigating officer Insp Abdul 'Azim Mazlan at +6013-4146144 to assist investigations.
