After writing a letter that instigated a Puchong school into taking down its Chinese New Year decorations earlier this month, lawyer Mohd Khairul Azam Abdul Aziz is now stirring another controversy this week

On Tuesday, 14 January, Khairul posted a two-minute-and-19-second-long video detailing how 'Chinese' and 'Indians' are not mentioned in the Federal Constitution.

"Today, I am going to give you a lesson about what is in the Federal Constitution and what is not," Khairul could be heard saying at the beginning of the video.

Khairul showed how many times 'Melayu' is used in the 247-page Federal Constitution while using the search function on a computer

He made a drumroll sound in the video and announced while facing the camera that 'Melayu' is mentioned 65 times in the supreme law of Malaysia.

Khairul then searched 'Cina' and 'India', to which the computer let out an 'empty' sound alert.

"There is only the word 'Melayu' in the Federal Constitution," Khairul said.

The name of your ethnicity is not even mentioned in the supreme law. Yet, you still want to talk so much!

He then turned his head down and made a loud spitting sound.

The video has gathered over 2,400 shares at the time of writing.

While there were thousands of comments ridiculing Khairul for his view, some Malaysians took a step further and made a video response

In a four-minute-long video, Facebook user Gobby Nath Penang claimed that Khairul is suffering from a disease and said that he is afraid that Khairul’s disease will spread to others.

Gobby then exemplified how every Malaysian has contributed to the country, citing how Tony Fernandes has made it possible for Malaysian Muslims to fly to Mecca to perform Hajj affordably with his budget airline AirAsia.

"Therefore, everybody plays a part in Malaysia," Gobby said.

"When you generalise and 'pui' our ethnicities, you are doing a disgrace to the Chinese and Indian teachers that taught you when you were young."

Another Facebook user, Chong Gm, warned Khairul not to stir racial conflict by "cakap bukan-bakan" (talking nonsense)

Among many other things Chong said in his 15-minute-long video response, he said Khairul is committing dosa (sin) and advised him to have some budi bahasa (manners).

"We don't owe you anything. Just like you, if you are eating a plate of RM1 rice, we pay RM1 too," Chong explained.

"Malaysia is a peaceful country. We are all anak Malaysia. Stop berdosa (sinning/slandering)."

On 8 January, Khairul's letter to SMK Pusat Bandar Puchong 1 pressured the school into taking down its Chinese New Year decorations:

The incident later led to the police opening an investigation into the letter:
