A video of a maskless woman arguing with employees at a shopping mall in KL recently went viral on social media
Twitter user @DFEfiercefun uploaded a video along with a caption explaining that the incident took place at a Dior boutique.
She wrote, "No entry for no mask! This lady resisted and said those with masks are communists!"
At the time of writing, the clip had garnered over 137,500 views.
In the video, the woman can be seen speaking to a Dior employee while holding up her phone
She claims that she had been threatened by an employee at the door while she was trying to enter the outlet.
"When I went to walk in, he put his hands on me and pushed me!" she said.
In another video, the woman can be seen still trying to enter the shop.
When stopped by an employee, she said, "You can't stop me, it's a free country! You don't own the shop."
The word 'Karen' is now trending on Twitter in Malaysia
Dictionary.com states that 'Karen' is a pejorative slang term for an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and often racist middle-aged white woman who uses her privilege to get her way or police other people's behaviours.
Netizens responded to the tweet by calling for authorities to take action against the woman.
Several people also tagged the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Ministry of Health (MOH) Twitter accounts.
One person wrote, "As this was caught on camera, can the authorities please find and mete out punishment in accordance to Malaysian laws? This will be a great reminder to all."
Another user commented, "How did she manage to get through the mall guards at the escalators/entrance door before entering the mall? Just fine her RM10,000 please."
