An area in Hanoi has been under lockdown for the past few days

To contain the novel coronavirus disease, Truc Bach Street in Hanoi - where 66 families and 189 residents live - has been in isolation for three days after one of its residents became the capital's first COVID-19 patient.

Vietnam online newspaper VnExpress reported that the community has been encouraged to continue on with their regular routines, but to follow precautions and safety protocols.

As residents are not allowed to leave the area, free resources such as noodles, rice, eggs, meat, and vegetables are regularly sent in to help them

The goods are stored at a warehouse in Truc Bach. Packages like chicken and pork are hygienically sourced and carefully preserved before they are freely distributed to residents in the area.

In the meantime, all vehicles and quarantined areas have been disinfected and locals are having healthcare checks twice a day

VnExpress reported that around 13 Vietnamese Army's Chemical Division vehicles and 70 soldiers were deployed to spray chemicals to disinfect Truc Bach and other neighbouring streets.

Chau Long Street, which connects with Truc Bach, was also sprayed with disinfectant.
